Developing Mastery in Teaching Mathematics

This training is aimed at up-skilling non-specialist class teachers to meet the increased demands of the Primary Mathematics National Curriculum.


Who is the training for?

Class teachers (and teaching assistants) who teach mathematics (non-specialists) in independent primary (or preparatory) schools.


Training details:

This course will look at developing skills of teaching essential areas of mathematics, such as place-value, fractions, decimals and percentages, the introduction of algebra and a variety of problem solving strategies through a range of activities. Common misconceptions will also be identified.


Training leader:

Serena Alexander has written a series of mathematics books for Galore Park. She is a former headteacher of a leading Prep School, as well as being a consultant for organisations such as ISI and IAPS.
