Who should attend:
Existing Chair of Governors, potential new Chair of Governors
Chair of Governors typically possess a wide range of leadership and interpersonal skills and devote a great amount of time and commitment to the role. However, governing bodies are made up of a diverse group of people and motivating and leading such a group can be challenging, whilst also maintaining a good relationship with the head. This course focuses on four key areas:
(1) Maintaining a healthy working relationship with the headteacher;
(2) giving and receiving criticism and suggestions;
(3) managing differences of opinion; and
By the end of the course:
Chairs will have reflected on their own existing skills within these 4 key areas and developed an action plan for future practice.
This training can be delivered in-school before/ after a governors' meeting, or alternatively via video conferencing if this is more convenient. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
